Cards and Things

Cards:

Went to an 18th birthday “do” after going to chapel yesterday afternoon.  Lovely sporead put on by the family.  Of course a birthday party calls for a birthday card.  In fact, as my mother wanted to send a card to the same young man, it called for two birthday cards.  I obviously wanted to make sure that the cards would be different to anything he’d received from anybody else. These are what I came up with:

  1. The first card I made using the sheet “18th Metallic Age Quick Card with Twisted Pyramage” by Carol Clarke.  The bookmark came from the same sheet as well.  Now isn’t that good value?  I used a gold linen effect A4 sheet to make the base card and to back the bookmark.  The only embellishment was a brad on the bookmark.
  2. This card I made using the Splendour embossing board from the Glitter Girls.  Using silver linen effect card, together with black and deep navy card, layers of embossed shapes were built up.  The card was simply finished with “Penblwydd Hapus” (Welsh for Happy Birthday) peeloffs in the top left and bottom right of the design, and an “18” blue holographic peel-off in the centre.

CUP Update:

CUP Newsletter Mailer – The latest mailer sent out via E-mail by the CUP team today, 5th September, can be seen online by clicking – here.  As usual there’s a wide range of card designs on show. Christmas designs make an appearance, as does a SVG cutting file, an Iris Folding design of a man lawn bowling, some new window cards, etc.  Then there’s some other bits of news from the site and even a picture of a swarm of ladybirds taken by one of the CUP Designers on a day out.  You’ll also see that a special offer on the craftsINprint magazine is still ongoing as I mentioned in my last post.

You can see the cards I’ve made using design sheets from CUP in my “Crafter Showcase Area” on Craftsuprint.com – here
