Challenge Entry And More

Thank you for clicking over to have a look at my blog both new and regular visitors.
(I know that I write a lot in each blog post – this helps me remember what colours or cardstock I’ve used in case I want to get a similar effect in the future, in addition to providing information that some readers might be interested in – so please don’t think that you have to read every word I’ve written.)
(If you don’t want to know what I used and how I made a card you can just click the thumbnail images to view each card at a larger size, and then click “Back” and scroll down to the next section.

Just five creations this time, some are a combination of items cut on my Silhouette Cameo and die-cuts cut on my Joy.  No “male” cards this time, so I’ll need to think about a male and a children’s card before long to keep the balance.  The first I’m entering into some challenges.

(Clicking on the text links below each set of images takes you to the pages where you can see some of what I used to make the cards.)

I’d like to enter this card into the following challenges:

  1. 6 Ornate Borders..SVG by Tina Fitch and Digital Stamp Garden Gate with coloured version too by Pamela West (I printed the digi-stamp out, at smaller than the provided size, onto 300gsm Super Smooth white cardstock.  I coloured it in using my ProMarkers.  The colours I used were: Holly, Red, Cocoa, Yellow, Grass, Tan, Cinnamon, Powder Blue, Icicle.  I cut out a border out of a 280gsm, linen textured white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo and threaded it with a narrow red glitter ribbon as well as putting a small bow on it.  My base card is a white 8″ square Crafty Bob base card.  The first layer mat layer on my card is a piece of Creata A4 300gm Hammered Card that I trimmed down to be a little smaller than the card front.   I then got out my Joy embossing and die-cutting machine.  The next layer is a die cut piece from the same card-stock as the border was cut.    I die-cut one layer of the butterfly from the white linen card-stock and then cut the same butterfly which is a Creata Joy die, the frame and the right hand border using Tattered Lace dies, and assorted flowers using Joy and Spellbinders dies, from red, 216gsm textured cardstock.  I attached the frome to the trimmed digi-stamp using a Quickie glue pen. I then built up my card front, using finger-lift tape to attach the bottom layers, 1mm deep, double sided, foam tape to attach the framed digi-stamp, ultra tacky tape to attach the electronic cut border to the left, finger-lift tape tape to attach the border to the right, then glue gel to attach all the other pieces, which included a white feather, a couple of buttons from my mother’s box, two metal charms from my jewellery making stash, and some sticky back gems.)

An assortment of other hand crafted items.

  1. 6 Ornate Borders..SVG by Tina Fitch (I took the file into my Silhouette Studio software and cut the designs out of 280gsm linen textured white card using my Silhouette Cameo.  One of the borders I stuck onto a wide red glitter ribbon which was stuck to the front of a folded over piece of the same cardstock – thus making a bookmark to go with the previous card.)
  2. Digital Stamp Obelisk with coloured version too by Pamela West (I printed the uncoloured digi-stamp out onto 300gsm Super Smooth white cardstock at smaller than the size provided.  I then coloured it in using my ProMarkers, leaving the obelisk white and colouring the background a blotchy blue for a sky. The colours I used were: Honeycomb, Pumpkin, Tan, Forest Green, Holly, Grass, Ginger, Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Powder Blue.  I then stuck a die-cut frame over the image using a Quickie Glue pen and cut around the edge of that.  I took an A4 sheet of 280gsm, linen textured white cardstock and scored it using my Hougie Board before bending it in half to make an A5 base card.  I stuck a strip of blue butterfly and flower ribbon from my crafting stash down the left hand side using the narrowest red back double sided tape, stuck the framed image onto the card using 2mm deep, double sided, foam tape, and then embellished with a die-cut butterfly and some sticky back faux gems.)
  3. Fancy Plate,Stand & Box…SVG by Tina Fitch (The stand, back plate, and white flowers were cut out of 280gsm, linen textured, white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo.  The green elements were cut out of 250gsm Pearlescent cardstock and the purple out of 216gsm textured card-stock.  After cutting I assembled the plate using 1mm deep, double sided foam tape to attach the layers and glue gel to attach the foliage and flowers.  I finished off by putting on some sticky back, faux gems.  I’ve not put a greeting on yet as I don’t know the language it will be needed in, but I’ve left a space in the centre for this.)
  4. Ribbon Threading Fan Card….SVG by Tina Fitch (I cut the base card out of 280gsm, linen textured, white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo.  I cut the fan out of 216gsm red textured cardstock.  I threaded a red glitter ribbon up the side of the card and use a strip of the same ribbon to wrap around the base of the fan.  I used glue gel to stick a white feather over the cut out aperture and then the fan on top.  I finished off the card with a die-cut corner and flower and a Cameo cut leaf sprig.)
