Thank you for clicking over to have a look at my blog
A Bit Of An Update, 2 Cards and 1 Notebook, Plus a Discount Code

If you don’t want to read everything I’ve written, or know what I used and how I made a card you can just click the thumbnail images to view each card at a larger size, and then click “Back” and scroll down to the next section.
I know that I write a lot in each blog post – this helps me remember what colours or cardstock I’ve used in case I want to get a similar effect in the future, in addition to providing information that some readers might be interested in – so please don’t think that you have to read every word I’ve written.

I’ve had a reasonably quite weekend and only done a little bit of crafting.  I’ve decorated a notebook with torn paper panels and flowers – I’ve found that buying cheap notebooks and decorating them in some way, is a good way to make cheap little gifts that are both pretty and functional, and depending how they are decorated they can be done for males or females, or even children.

I also made a card where the decorative elements have been created using paper punches.  One thing I realised is that I’m missing a couple of my punches, so I really do need to finish sorting out the crafting stuff that are still in the large box I put them into when I started my crafty stash clear-up with my niece’s help.

My third item is also a card, this time with a digi-stamp topper that I’d coloured in a few days ago.  I do hope you like htem all.

All three items are being entered into different challenges, so please keep looking.

CARDS:

(If you click on the thumbnail images you can have a look at a larger image of each item.)
(Clicking on the text links below each set of images takes you to the pages where you can see some of what I used to make the cards. Where these linked pages are on the CUP site you will usually find a longer description of how I made the item at the bottom of the page.)

In my “MAKING THINGS EASIER!” section of my last blog post I mentioned that the storage of paper punches came up in one of the Facebook Groups I belong to (see the post to see how I store mine).  Well following that a challenge was set in the group to make anything using our punches.  So I printed out an assortment of backgrounds from a Stamping Dragon Design digital pack and got punching.  Other than scissors to cut out some panels before punching, everything on the card was done using punches.

  1. Spring Melody Papers by Janette Padley (This is the half way stage of creating my card showing the punches and scissors I used and the pieces I created with them to put on my card.)
  2. Spring Melody Papers by Janette Padley (I printed several of the papers out onto 120gsm Super Smooth white paper.  I trimmed one, took an 8″ square Crafty Bob card and attached the paper to the front using fingerlift tape.  I then took an assortment of my punches and cut some into squares and then punched into or around them, punched out a fancy paper ribbon and punched some flowers.  I also cut some leaf shapes.  I then took some quick grab glue and made a bow of part of the paper ribbon and attached the whole strip towards the bottom of my card.  I used finger-lift tape to attach the two main panels to the front of mycard, some 2mm deep, double sided, foam tape, to attach a greeting panel which says “Penblwydd Hapus” – which is Welsh for “Happy Birthday” – and then shaped the punched flowers with my fingers and added the flowers and leaves to the card front using glue gel.)

  1. Bug Catching Boys Digital Stamp 2 by Angela Wenke (I printed out the design onto Super Smooth cardstock at smaller than the size provided.  I then coloured it in using my ProMarkers and cut out on the outline.  The colours I used were: Henna, Wallnut, Black, Denim Blue, Frozen Lake, Cool Grey 4, Buttercup, Green Shoot, Rose Pink, Vanilla, Blush, Ivory, plus Silver Metalic Marker.  The sky was: Frozen Lake, Sky Blue, nad Blender pen.  The grass was, Bright Green, Grass, Forest Green. I took a pre-cut, scored and folded card from my crafting stash and also used ProMarkers to colour in the front as a background.  I shaped the coloured in digi-stamp a bit and stuck onto the front of the card using glue gel.  I finished off by tieing the top with some pieces of jute cord.  I’ve not put on a greeting yet as I don’t know the language it will be needed in.)

1cup380704_1749 - card02 - M'Ladies Boudouir Card Papers

  1. M’Ladies Boudouir Card Papers by Janette Padley (I started off by printing several of the designs from this papers pack onto 120gsm Super Smooth white paper.  I took a cheep, supermarket, reporters notepad and put some glue gel over the front.  I put one of the printer papers over this and used a scissors to trim around the outside and to put snips at the top so that the paper could be pushed around the spring that held the notebook together.  The decoration, including the flowers were all made by tareing the other pieces into strips, oblongs, a leaf and spiral flowers.  I used quick grab glue to hold the flowers in place as I wound them up and then used glue gel to attach everything to the front of the notebook.)
