December Stamping Dragon Card Swap – Card Sent

Just a quick post this time to show you a card I sent for the December Card Swap on the “Stamping Dragon Designs” group on FB.  The partner selected for me in this swap was Cheryl. As these things sometimes happen, Cheryl’s health wasn’t up to sending back a card on this occasion, but she has notified me that the card I sent her has arrived so I can show you the photos of it now.  The details of what I used to make it can be seen below.

The theme for the December Card Swap was “New Year”.

I’ve used different items and techniques from the presision of some die-cutting to the “shabby” look of tareing on this card.

“2014 Hapus” is Welsh for “Happy 2014”, which I thought was a good greeting for a New Year card.

Ruperts Fairy Friend Stamp by Janette Padley and Christmas Reds by Mary MacBean (I printed the image onto 300gsm Super Smooth white cardstock at much smaller than the size provided and then coloured it in using my ProMarkers. The colours I used were:  Red, Lipstick Red, Chestnut, Tan, Grass and Pressed Leaf. I then cut the image out along the outside edge.  I took an A4 sheet of yellow, pearlescent, cardstock and scored it in half using my Hougie Board.  I cut a panel just a little smaller than this from the background that I’d printed onto 250gsm linen textured cardstock and went round the edge with the Red ProMarker before sticking it to the front of my base card.  I took another sheet of the pearlescent yellow cardstock and tore panels from it, putting one behind the coloured image.  I searched my crafty stash for chipboard numbers for 2014, and die cut out the bunting letters “HAPUS” – which is welsh for “Happy”.  I also took a piece of ribbon from my crafty stash – which I seem to remember came off a box of chocolates at some point in the past.  The “flowers” were made from the waste from when I made my crackers using the method I showed you in my “Making Paper Flowers 8” pictorial guide.)
