Just a quick post this time to show you one card I received and one I sent.
My partner for the February Card Swap on the “Stamping Dragon Designs” group on FB was Jacqui Robinson. Photos of the card I received from her, together with the card I sent her, and the details of what I used to make it, can be seen below. The theme for the February Card Swap was – “valentines/love”.
This is the card I received from Jacqui.
Thank you so much Jacqui. I love purple, and with the gold your card looks very opulent.
Outside and inside are gorgeous.
This next one is the card that I sent Jacqui – I’ve used a digital download created by Janette Padley of Stamping Dragon Designs on this card.
(Clicking on the medium or thumbnail sized images brings up a larger version of the image that shows the quotes off better. Clicking on the text links below takes you to the pages where you can see some of what I used to make the card.)
I wanted the card to look nice with the tag removed as well.
Both sides of tag
Family Photo Stamp by Janette Padley (I don’t often do tags on my cards, but I thought it would be appropriate for this one. One of the quotes I’ve used is Biblical and the other is one by Charles Kuralt that I read somewhere and noted at some point in the past. The digi-stamp, quotes and two backgrounds for the tags were printed out onto 300gsm Super Smooth white cardstock. I coloured in the digi-stamp using my alcohol markers. The colours I used were: Peony, Tropical Orchid, Red, Canary, Spring Lilac, and Purple ProMarkers, and Celestial Blue, Sapphire and Dove Grey FlexMarkers. The digi-stamp and tags were then cut out and the two sides and two greetings of the tags were stuck together using wet glue before tieing a ribbon through the holes. The base card is an A4 cardstock that I scored using my Hougie Board and folded in half. I then stuck a layer of deep purple cardstock a little smaller than the card front on top using finger-lift tape. The patterned paper is from a pack of 6″ square papers that I’ve got in my crafting stash – I cut off the right hand side of the sheet and cut the butterfly I’ve decoupaged on top out of that before sticking the paper in place using finger-lift tape as well. Brads have been used to attach the “bar” that the digi stamp is sitting on, and glue gel was used to attach the digi to the bar – mostly covering the brads with the tails. I finished off with some card candi and tucked the tag under the bar.)

(Hi All – You should find a box below where you can leave a comment if you feel like it, but due to the fact that I’ve had some problems with Spam/advertising posts, that are absolutely nothing to do with the content of my blog, I now moderate all comments before they go live. Genuine comments will go live when I’ve checked through the list – usually a couple of times a day.)
