An Update, Design Team Call, A Card, An Owl, And A Couple Of Elastic Band Bracelets
Unfortunately I had to go to the dentist this week. Got an absuss on on the root of a tooth. So I’m on antibiotics and, as you can imagine, I’m feeling a bit miserable. Doesn’t help that the pain killers don’t keep working through the night so I’ve been woken up by the pain around 3am the last few nights. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in over the weekend and I’ll feel better by next week.
So, I’ve not been doing much crafting the end of this week. I did get my ScanNCut out this morning and set it to cutting a few things while waiting for Tesco to do the grocery delivery, but I’ve not put anything I cut together yet. Something for me to show you next week hopefully.
I hope you like the small number of projects I’ve got to show you this week, but before that – A Design Team Call!
DESIGN TEAM CALL:
Regular readers of my blog will know I’m on the Design Team for Stamping Dragon Designs, putting “Inspired by …” posts on The Dragons Den blog, creating inspiration pieces for the Stampin With The Dragon challenge blog, as well as being active on the Stamping Dragon Design Facebook Group.
Sadly, a few of the Design Team members have left over the last few weeks so our Design Team Leader is now running a Design Team Call. Different types and levels of crafters are being looked for, so please do pop over to the information – Here – to have a look at the requirements and how to apply.
(If you click on the thumbnail images you can have a look at a larger image of each item.)
(Clicking on the text links below each set of images takes you to the pages where you can see some of what I used to make the cards. Where these linked pages are on the CUP site you will usually find a longer description of how I made the item at the bottom of the page.)
I’ve been making some more elastic band bracelets. One for the nephew who likes blue and one for the nephew who likes yellow.
- This is a different pattern to the elastic band barcelet I’ve shown you before. For this one I used light and dark blue elastic bands.
- A different angled view of the same bracelet.
- Close-up of the pattern of the bracelet.
- Same design as the previous bracelet but this time in yellow and green.

I don’t often do hand sewing any more because my hands hurt or go numb or pins and needles after very little work, but I had some felt pieces I’d bought and I decided to tackle making some felt owls for my nephews and niece. To make things easier for me I used the biggest needle I could find and used 6 stranded embroydery thread as it was. I’ve been stitching in bed, doing a bit and then resting, while watching TV. The first owl is complete, if a bit lopsided and quirky, and I’m well on the way to getting the second done. I got the basic template from Blue Sky Confections, but then I adapted and added to it to make each one different.
- This first owl has been made with a deep yellow breast for the nephew who’s favourite colour is currently yellow. It is stuffed with toy filling and a small handfull of dried lavender.
Hopefully I’ll have the second complete by the time I do my next blog post.

(Thank you for reading this blog post. I hope you like what you’ve seen and read – You should find a box below where you can leave a comment if you feel like it – but due to the fact that, like many I’m sure, I’ve had some problems with Spam/advertising posts that are absolutely nothing to do with the content of my blog, I now moderate all comments before they go live. Genuine comments will go live when I’ve checked through the list – usually a couple of times a day.) (Thank you to every body who’s left comments on my previous blog posts. I really do appreciate them all.)
If you can’t see the comment box then there should be a link that says “Responses” and clicking on that will bring up the box
