Card Making Towards The End Of July 2014

Thank you for clicking over to have a look at my blog
An Update And Two Cards

-oOo-

It’s a very short post from me today – only 2 creations to show you.  I’ve been trying to do little bits of tidying in the garden and having to do more resting and less crafting because of that.  I must admit that I don’t like how hot it’s been and suffer because of the heat, so try and do a little in the garden each morning and evening and rest in between.  Thoug this morning I went out with my loppers – and it started raining before I’d settled down in my chair properly to start working – so in I came again.  I have done a few other bits of crafting than on show today, but they are for Design Team work and so they are items you will see over the next few months, so lots of reasons for you to keep poping back for looks in the future.

CARDS:

(If you click on the thumbnail images you can have a look at a larger image of each item.)
(Clicking on the text links below each set of images takes you to the pages where you can see some of what I used to make the cards. Where these linked pages are on the CUP site you will usually find a longer description of how I made the item at the bottom of the page.)

  1. Rock a Bye Jiggy Stamp by Janette Padley and Baby Things *SVG* by Rae Carr (I printed the image out onto 250gsm Super Smooth cardstock at smaller than the size provided and coloured it in using ProMarkers.  The colours I used were: Tan, Raw Sienna, Fuchsia Pink, Pink Carnation, and Red.  I then cut it out  I made a box card out of an A3 sheet of pink Adorable Scorable cardstock and panels out of white Adorable Scoreable cardstock.  I also cut out baby motifs out of pink Basal cardstocks using cutting file in my ScanNCut machine.  I used finger-lift tape to attach the panels to the box, and foam tape and glue gel to attach the baby motifs to the outside panels.  I put two acetate bridges across the inside of the box from side to side.  This had pieces sticking up onto which more of the baby motifs were attached using red back tacky tape.  I’ve not put on a greeting yet as I don’t know what language it will be needed in, but there are plenty of room on the “helicopter” and “rocking horse”.)
  2. Angled view from the other side of the box card.
  3. Closer look at the digi-stamp panel on the front flap.
  4. The box card put flat for boxing up for posting.

  1. Fishing Boy Digital Stamp 7 by Angela Wenke and Fishing Rod Backing Paper by Apetroae Stefan (I printed the digi-stamp out at smaller than the size provided onto 250gsm Super Smooth white cardstock and coloured it in using my ProMarkers and FlexMarkers.  The colours I used were: Tan, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Henna, Satin, Olive Green, Red, Sky Blue, Surf Blue, and Cloud Blue.  The base card is A5 in size and onto this I stuck a panel of brown Basal cardstock.  I printed the backing design onto 120gsm good quality white paper and cut out two panels, one with only a single fishing rod on it.  The larger panel was stuck to the mat on the card using finger-lift tape and the same type of tape was used to stick the little panel and the digi-stamp topper onto blue Basal cardstock.  I used 2mm deep, double sided, foam tape to attach the matted image to the card front.  I’ve not put on a greeting yet as I don’t know what langauge it will be needed in.)
  2. Angled view of the same card showing the little dimension given to the toppers by using the foam tape.
  3. Fishing Rod Insert by Apetroae Stefan (I printed the insert onto 120gsm good quality paper, trimmed it, folded it in half and then attached inside the previous card using finger-lift tape.)

(Thank you for reading this blog post. I hope you like what you’ve seen and read – You should find a box below where you can leave a comment if you feel like it but due to the fact that, like many I’m sure, I’ve had some problems with Spam/advertising posts that are absolutely nothing to do with the content of my blog, I now moderate all comments before they go live. Genuine comments will go live when I’ve checked through the list – usually a couple of times a day.) (Thank you to every body who’s left comments on my previous blog posts. I really do appreciate them all.)
If you can’t see the comment box then there should be a link that says “Responses” and clicking on that will bring up the box
