Thank you for clicking over to have a look at my blog
Nightdresses

-oOo-

Previously – here – I showed you a warm dress I’d made for my mother quite a while ago but never got around to blogging  – as far as I can remember.

I said that I’d made a mistake in pinning the hem of the dress up when Mam was standing upright but that she walks bent forward over her walking frame so the hem rises at the back –

So – when I used the same pattern to make her lighter dresses in summer weight cottons, which she uses as nightdresses, I made further adjustments to the patern (created using The Golden Rule) and drew around the curved “high/low” hem of one of my skirts to adjust things to give her a more suitable longer length in the back without risking her tripping by having any extra length in the front that could go down to the floor when she leans forward to walk. Like this –

Sorry they are a bit wrinkly, but I don’t do ironing except for very rare occasions, and one nightdress was in the airing cupboard, and the other I fished out of the drier to photograph.

Here’s the 1st one I made.

And here’s the 2nd I made her a few month’s later.

This time I bound both the neckline and capped sleaves with contrasting bias binding, rather than putting interfaceing round the neckline as I’d done for the dress.

.

More catchups, as well as things I’m currently working on, to come over the next few werks – hopefully! So please do pop back again.

(Thank you for reading this far. I hope you like what you’ve seen and read – You should find a box below where you can leave a comment if you feel like it, but due to the fact that, like many I’m sure, I’ve had some problems with Spam/advertising posts that are absolutely nothing to do with the content of my blog, I now moderate all comments before they go live. Genuine comments will go live when I’ve checked through the list – usually a couple of times a day.)
(Thank you to every body who’s left comments on my previous blog posts. I really do appreciate them all.
