Thank you for clicking over to have a look at my blog
Today is an update on how I’m progressing with the patchwork for the fronts of my two single bed quilts.
Once I’d got together a dozen or so squares with one piece of sashing by the side, I decided to start sewing some of the blocks together to see how it looked and get feedback from others. I didn’t want to waste time sewing together more of the blocks I’d already cut out, or cut out more blocks either, if everybody thought it was a disaster and looked bad.
I stiched 5 blocks with side sashing into a row, adding a piece of sashing to the other end. I then stiched together another row with a different assortment of blocks. A row of sashing was added top and bottom of one row before sewing on another row. Over a period of several days, just doing a little at a time, I’ve now got 4 rows sewn together plus five or six blocks ready to put into rows, as well as quite a few blocks cut ready to sew.
This is what I’ve made so far looks like.
This is just thrown over the edge of the kitchen table so you can’t see it all.
So far the family members and friends who’ve seen it like the colour combinations, and they think the black makes the colours ping.
So I’m going to keep going, adding a bit at a time untill it is the required length. I may even have another cutting out session next as I’ve not cut quite enough blocks to make two wuilts yet.
Please keep an eye out for more posts about how I’m getting on with this “‘Big’ Work In Progress” in the future.

(Thank you for reading this far. I hope you like what you’ve seen and read – You should find a box below where you can leave a comment if you feel like it, but due to the fact that, like many I’m sure, I’ve had some problems with Spam/advertising posts that are absolutely nothing to do with the content of my blog, I now moderate all comments before they go live. Genuine comments will go live when I’ve checked through the list – usually a couple of times a day.)
(Thank you to every body who’s left comments on my previous blog posts. I really do appreciate them all.)
