18th Birthday Cards
A friend mentioned that she would be needing 18th Birthday cards before long, so when I got home I started thinking about making a few. Only problem was I’d forgotten to ask whether she needed Welsh or English cards, and whether they were for boys or girls. I even forgot to ask if they had specific interests or tastes. Duh! Brain not in gear.
But I decided to have a go at making a bit of an assortment as I didn’t have any specifically for 18th birthdays in my boxes of cards at the moment, and it would be easier to discuss what sort of thing she was looking for if I had something to show her.
These are what I came up with.
Male themed, English. I believe the pieces to make this 8″ square card were from a Kanban kit.
This one is a female, Welsh, card made using a Hunkydory filigree collection. I’ve put 4 small 18s on this card in each corner, rather than one big number.
This 8″ square xard is made using Hunkydory decolarge. I kept one of the layers to decorate the insert and used foam tape to build up some of the layers on the ftont.
This one I used a “Happy Birthday To You” greeting from the collection to make an English card.
This time I’ve gone subtle for the number 18 putting it on twice.
If you’ve not spotted them yet have a look at this clo8seup.
One on the roof of the bird feeder table and one on the hanging feeder.
Back to a male themed card next. This time in welsh.
Unfortunatel I needed to take the photo at an angle to prevent the shine overshadowing the image, and when I took the photo at this angle the eording “Penblwydd Hapus” and the large numbers, at the top left of the card, don’t show so well in the photo.
The next is the largest of this batch of cards, being an A3 sheet of Centura Pearl cardstock tyat I scored, folded, cut down the centre of the front, cut a piece off the right side, scored both sides, thenfolded the sides as well to make a double easel.
This is the topper on the right. It’s a fully made up decolarge topper from Hunkeydory.
I used an A4 coordinating cardstock to decorate the basevthe base and used pieces from a second set of the same image ad stoppers for both side easels.
And this is what the card looked like
The dimension on the topper and stoppers was created using 2mm derp, double sided, foam tape.
That’s it for today. More crafting TO COME before too long, so please do pop in for a look again.
