Recycling Old Christmas Cards

-oOo-

For the batch of Christmas cards I’ve got to show you today I have recycled old Christmas cards.

A few friends give me their old cards, both Christmas and more general ones from other occasions during the year, and any that are suitable I re-use to create cards that can be sold and the proceeds go the Sunday School.

For the batch I’m going to show today I used square, pre cut and scored kraft card base cards that came with matching envelopes. As most of the members of our chapel have mentioned in the past that they want cards they can post using a standard size letter stamp, I have kept the profile of these cards low by only using one matt to layer with the recycled image and sticking with fingerlift tape. I used assorted Adorable Scorable cardstock, cut to just a little larger than the trimmed recycled image, to mat each image onto.

I put an insert inside each one that says “Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda” (Welsh equivelent for Happy Christmas and a Good New Year). And on the outside I stuck a greetings peel-off.  By not adding lots of embelishments I can keep the cost of the cards low for me to make, keep the price for the pack low, and pass on all the money made for the recycled cards to the Sunday School.

This is the paper with information that is in the package with these cards.

.

I’ll have some more Christmas card posts to come over the next few weeks, so please do pop back to have a look.
