Quilling
-oOo-
The English saying – There’s no place like home – is translated into Welsh as “Does unman yn debyg i gartref”. I wanted to make my youngest sister something with this saying on for her birthday and decided to do a little quilling on it.
.
But I started the project by turning to my ScanNCut. I had a play in the online Canvas software and tried various layouts of the words until I was happy.
I decided, rather than using a pen to write out the words, that I’d use the ScanNCut’s foiling feature and get the machine to write out everything using a glue pen. Some of the words I set to just write the outline and some with a solid fill.
I was working on an A4 size finished project.
I used gold foil to rub all over the glue lines as soon as it was out of my ScanNCut and dry.
Unfortunately, no matter how I turned my cardstock I simply can’t get a good photo showing the foiling all the way around my creation.
As soon as the foiling was done out came my quilling kit (similar to this one) and off I went filling in the letters I’d left with a blank centre with different colour and shaped quilling pieces. I tried to stick all pieces just inside the foiled lines.
You can see the dimension of the quilling in this photo.
It took me several days to fill in all 7 letters of Gartref but it looked OK I think.
I then needed to frame it. I chose a deep frame with a perspex front to keep the dust off the quilling. I tried to take this photo to show the depth from front to the quilled panel.
And this is my final creation.
.
That’s it for this post. Hope you liked it. I’ve got more crafting to do and more crafting to blog, so keep an I out to see what other creations I make.

(Thank you for reading this blog post. I hope you like what you’ve seen and read – You should find a box below where you can leave a comment if you feel like it – but due to the fact that, like many I’m sure, I’ve had some problems with Spam/advertising posts that are absolutely nothing to do with the content of my blog, I now moderate all comments before they go live. Genuine comments will go live when I’ve checked through the list – usually a couple of times a day.) (Thank you to every body who’s left comments on my previous blog posts. I really do appreciate them all.)
If you can’t see the comment box then there should be a link that says “Responses” and clicking on that will bring up the box
