Some Welsh Birthday Cards

A few days ago I wrote about being asked to make a dozen Welsh Sympathy Cards as well as Welsh Birthday Cards.  I’ve shown you the first half dozen Sympathy Cards, and today I’ve got the first half dozen Birthday Cards to show you.

I’m trying to make a good mixture of cards that will be suitable for both male and female recipients, remembering that we are in a rural area of West Wales so I’m looking to cover a variety of rural interests and scenes.

This first card was made using a sheet of cardstock and a decolarge image and decoupage layers from Hunkydory.  I didn’t use all the layers supplied so have some left for another topper.  Everything was layered together with some 2mm deep, double sided, foam tape. The card was finished off with a peeloff Penblwydd Hapus.  There is an insert inside.

This is a side closeup to try and show the dimensional layers I added.

This card is again made with items from a Hunkydory kit. This time it’s a round topper and matching sheet of A4 cardstock that was scored and folded in half.  The same foam tape was used to stick the topper to the card front. The card was finished off again with a peel off, and insert.

This card is again a layered decoupage one.  I’m not sure which company made the kit that the bits for this card came from, but I am sure I bought it via Create and Craft.  I used a black, fineliner, pen to put dashes around the base card as welll as the base layers of the toppers.  This card has several layers but I forgot to take and angled photo to show the dimension.  Again I finished off with a peel off greeting and an insert.

I used sheet of cardstock with a sort of frosted gold look as the base card for this next one. The layer is a wood effect backing paper. And again the topper came from a Hunkydory collection.

One mat for this card was cut from the same cardstock as the base card of the previous card, and another layer was from the same wood patterened background as used on the previous card.  The topper is from a Pollyanna Pickering collection.

The items to make this card came from the same collection as the rose bouquet decoupage above.

I’ll be back with another post to show you the rest of the Welsh Birthday Cards I made for this order at some point
