Spring Card Swap

Spring Card Swap

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).

I’m a member of a group called Chronic Crafters! on Facebook.  Every now and then a swap is organised.  The theme for the latest swap was “swapping cards on the theme of spring/Easter”, and I was partnered with Avril.

I decided to make a bright, spring, themed card with a little dimension and decided that a little duckling would fit the Spring theme nicely.

So time to grab some crafting stash and get makeing.

What I Used
The Card I Sent

This is the head on view of the card.

I scored twice in from the foiled border and did an X cut from corner to corner to create the recess, before matting and layering flat and using foam tape to add the topper and other elements.

To hide a bit of the corner that opens out I put flowers in the three corners that were not covered by the heart mini topper using glue gel.

I decorated the inside as well. A piece of cardstock from the collection was used to cover the mechanism of the recess from the front while an Adorable Scorable card was attached to the back and some items from my stash were used inside.

The Card I Received

A lovely, dimensional decoupage, front to the card.

Photo taken at an angle to try and show the dimension.

And as lovely on the inside as it is on the outside.
