A Few Sympathy Cards

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).

I have had an order from the boss of the company who organises our carers for an assortment of sympathy and birthday cards.  The vast majority of the cards I make are Welsh cards, but I’ve made a small number of English sympathy ones to put into a box for her to make her choices from this time as well.  So today I’ll start with two English Sympathy cards, and I’ll be back with some of the Welsh ones in a couple of days.

Card 1

This is a very simple card.  I used MS Publisher to lay out a Sympathy greeting towards the top of an area just under A5 in size.  I put a black border around the area and printed it out.  I scored an A4 sheet of hammered cardstock and folded it in half, cut out the panel I’d printed and attached it to the front of my base card with fingerlift tape.  I then took some flowers from my stash and attached them to the card front, in the form of a cross, using glue gel.

An angled view of the same card.

I had also produced a second panel with a greeting which I cut and attached inside the card.

Card 2

This is another simple card as I used die-cut, deco-large, topper from Hunkydory.  I didn’t use all the the layers but kept a small number of layers back to make another card.  I shaped the layers a little and attached them using glue gel before attaching the topper to a base card made from hammered cardstock that I used a punch to round the corners.

An angled view to try and show some of the dimension.  I added one of the English greetings from the topper sheet.

I did put in an insert that matched the topper but forgot to photograph it.
