Thank you for coming over to have a look at my blog
A Couple Of Birthday Cards
Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).
As I said in a previous post, I have been asked to make some birthday and sympathy cards. Most of the cards will be Welsh, but I have made a small number of English ones to place in the box for the carers boss to choose from.
I’m trying to go for a mixture of some floral and feminine, and some more masculine or more suitable for either sex.
For this card I’ve used items from a Hunkydory Deco-large floral collection. I used some layers from the topper, and insert, a couple of greetings panels, and a matching sheet of cardstock which I scored and folded in half to make my base card. I didn’t use the base layer of the decopage, but rather kept that for a second card, and build up a selection of layers using Pinflair glue gel to give dimension.
Unfortunately this photo doesn’t reflect the colours properly, but I’m sure you get the idea.
Here you can see how much dimension was created by using just a few of the decolarge layers.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the matching insert, but you’ll see what it is like in my next post of Welsh cards as I used one with an added Welsh greeting for that.
This card is a 6″x6″ pre cut and scored base card (it has a matching envelope). The topper, backing paper and greetings panel are all from a Creative Crafting World Pollyanna Pickering collection Fingerlift tape has been used to attach the panel of backing paper both inside and out. The giraffe topper was attached with 3mm deep foam tape to the front and a white circle was attached inside using fingerlift tape. The greeting panel on the front was attached with foam tape and the one inside with fingerlift tape.
Hopefully you can see that the circular topper is raised.
And the simple insert.
Keep an eye out for more cards I made for this order so the person who wanted them had a lot of choice..
