Some More Welsh Birthday Cards
Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).
As I said in a previous post, I have been asked to make some birthday and sympathy cards for the boss of the company who send us out our carers. Today I’m going to show you some of the Welsh birthday cards I’ve made to put in a box for her to make her choices from.
For this card I’ve used items from a Hunkydory Deco-large floral collection, using the rest of the topper layers from the English card I showed you previously. This time I used the base layer with some layers built on top using glue gel for dimension. I used Welsh “Penblwydd Hapus” peeloffs both outside and inside, rather than greetings panels from the sheet. The same pattern cardstock and insert were used.
I’ve tried to show the dimension in this photo.
Unlike the English version of this card, this time I did remember to take a photo of the insert. The peel-off greeting has been added at a jaunty angle for this one.
The base card this time is a white, hammered, cardstock, scored and folded in half. I also took another sheet of white cardstock to make the paper ribbon across the centre of the card and the white mat behind the topper. The main mat layer as well as the topper is from one of the Pollyanna Pickering collections by Creative Crafting World. Fingerlift tape was used to attach the background paper to the card front as well as attaching the topper to the white mat and the paper ribbon across the card front. I used foam tape to attach the topper to the card front and then glue gel to attach some flower embelishments from my stash (can’t remember where they came from originally).
Here you can see the raise in the matted topper.
This is another card made using items from a Hunkydory Decolarge floral collection. But this time I ony used the base layer of the decolarge and four corner elements, and put a plain paper insert inside. The base card is white hammered cardstock.
I don’t think I took this angled photo at quite enough of an angle for you to see that the elements were attached using 2mm deep foam tape to give a bit of dimension, without makeing it overly bulky for posting.
This image is another Pollyanna Pickering one from a collection from Creative Crafting World. This time I rounded the corners of the topper, put it on a cream coloured mat which I also used a punch to round the corners. I cut a paper ribbon from a background from the collection, sticking part of it down the centre of the card with fingerlift tape and using a smaller piece as a greeting panel onto which I put a peel-off greeting and attached to the card using foam tape.
Hopefully you can see the slight dimension created by the foam tape. I wanted some cards to be suitable for use for a male, without any embelishments or being fussy.
This card did have a matching insert put inside. As Creative Crafting world inserts come with a pre-printed greeting I had to put a panel over the top of that to place the Welsh greeting onto.
I have several bits of different crafting on the go at the moment, so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks.
