Assorted Cards

Assorted Cards

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).

I think that the cards I’ve got to show you today are the last of the ones I put into a box for our carers boss.  It is a bit of a mix of English and Welsh, Birthday and Sympathy.

Card 1

A Polyanna Pickering image from Creative Crafting World was used as a topper, and an insert from the same collection was cut in half to use as a backing paper on the front and as an insert.

Fingerlift Tape was used to attach background to an A5 lanscape white card, while foam tape was used to attach the topper to the card.

Again I used fingerlift tape to attach the insert.  Peeloff greetings were put on the outside and inside.

Card 2

This card was also made using items from a Pollyanna Pickering collection.  A kingfisher topper was used and an insert was used for the outside and the inside as well as some background paper.  I used a paper punch to round some corners.

I kept the English insert in this card so chose a matching greeting for the front.

Card 3

This card – Yn Meddwl Amdanoch Gyda Chydymdeimlad (Welsh for “Thinking Of You With Sympathy”) – written inside and out, was made by printing the outside greeting out as a panel with a grey frame.  After cutting it out a little outside the grey frame and rounding the corners it was mounted onto black cardstock which again had its corners rounded.  This was then stuck to the card front.

The flowers from my stash were then stuck directly to the card front.  These flowers came with the little faux gem centres so nothing else was done to the card other than sticking in the insert.

Card 4

The base card is a landscape orientation Pearlescent white cardstock that was scored, folded in half, and the corners rounded with a punch and set in landscape orientation.

The background is a piece of shaving foam marbling that I did a while ago. (I do have a half written blog post about the session of shaving foam marbling my nephews and I did, but I still need to finish this off)

I cut a panel to the required size and rounded its corners.  I punched out small flowers with a small Fleurs flower punch, making sure to keep the punches even down one side to cut a strip and use as a border across the card.  I cut a strip of white a little wider than the punched border.  I also cut a panel of white to use as a greetings panel, onto which I put the Penblwydd Hapus (Welsh for Happy Birthday).  I used a black fineliner to go around some of the pieces in a dashed line.

I punched the same flowers in white that I stuck the coloured flower layers on, off set, using Bookbinding Glue.  I used Fingerlift Tape and foam tape to attach the base/background layer, white ribbon strip and greetings panel.  I used the Bookbinding Glue to attach the flower ribbon strip and each of the flowers.  I then added tiny Sticky Backed Faux Gems to the flower centres.

I have several bits of different crafting on the go at the moment, so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks.
