Butterfly Card And More

Butterfly Card and More

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).

Today my make features a butterfly stamp by Pete Simpson of Artisan Designs UK.  If you are at the Stamperama event in Harrogate on the 9th November, Pete will be demonstrating on the Chocolate Baroque stand. He will have his Butterflies And More collection available for sale as well.

You may not know that Pete had his stamps manufactured by the people at Chocolate Baroque, so they are of excellent quality.

The second card was also made using an Artisan Design Stamp.

What I Did

I used my stamping press to stamp out all the images onto stamping card and then coloured them in using Prism Craft Markers.

The main images were cut as straight edged toppers and their corners rounded with a punch.  The required backgrounds were also cut out as straighted edged panels.  The stamped floral background piece was cut out to the edge.

I scored the two main pieces of cardstock and folded them to make landscape cards before sticking on my prepared pieces.  I used fingerlift tape throughout for these projects as I wanted them completely flat for posting.

I finished off by putting a peeloff greeting on the front and a plain insert inside.

What I Used
The Finished Cards

I was having problems getting good photos of these cards to show the true colours without them looking washed out, so, although they have no dimension, I have taken an angled photo as well as a straight on one of both cards.  I still don’t think they look true to colour on my screen, but don’t feel up to getting out my light box to re-take the photos again.

I have several bits of different crafting on the go at the moment, so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks.
