Candle And Flowers Decoration

Thank you for coming over to have a look at my blog

Floral Decoration With Candle

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).

When I was makeing some floral wreathes with faux flowers and leaves (I’ll get a blog post up about them before too long I hope), I decided to make extra flowers up and use them to decorate a table decoration with a candle in the middle.

What I Did

For today’s I made up the flowers from a kit of fabric flower layers.  These are quite easy to make as the fabric flower layers come pre-cut and coloured, although you can colour white layers yourself in any colour you want, or add shading, glitter, etc., to any pre-coloured layer.  The kit also comes with a tool which you use to hold and build the flower on.  Included are a central post for building the flowers, as well as internal supports and a piece to finish off the flowers.  For this project I just made up plain red and white carnation style flowers.

The base of my decoration are an oval plank and circle with pre-drilled holes that the post from the flowers can go into.  I used some leaf clusters left over from the wreaf makeing which the flower posts could go through, as well as using various other faux greenery.  These were stuck in place using glue gel.

Before sticking everything in place I made a circle out of red cardstock, scoreing and cutting into the scoreline, which was stuck to the centre of the plaque to hold the candle in place and make sure I didn’t over fill the centre of the decoration with foliage.

What I Used

Most of the things I used were only available for a short time as they are seasonal items, so no links available for all of them, but I include links for things that I could find still available at the time of writing this blog post.  I make no guarantees that the links will still be working when you read this.

I’ve put several of the home decor pieces I’ve created this year on a table in the passage all together for the moment.  They will be spread more around the house over the Christmas period.

.

I have several bits of different crafting on the go at the moment, so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks.
