2nd Candle And Flowers Decoration

2nd Floral Decoration With Candle

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).

I still had one candle left from the pack of three I’d bought a while ago. (The largest having been used for this project – here, and the middle sized one used for this project – here).

I decided I might as well make a display to put it on immediately, before all my faux flowers and foliage were put away in the garage to make more room in the house before Christmas.

What I Did

As the candle I had left was the smallest of the pack I went for a smaller display this time.  I chose a small round box I’d had some chocolate truffles in.  To prevent having a step line half way down I took the top off and turned the box base upsidedown.

I used red cardstock to cover the box, makeing the strips taller than the box and scoreing and cutting at the top to allow for bending the cardstock over before attaching using red liner tape to tge side of the box and using glue to stick down the flaps and sticking on a circle.

A small ring of cardstock was then attached to the top to make a recess to put the candle into.

For this project I used pre-made flowers that I bought a while ago, rather than constructing my own.  These had a flat back rather than the stem support that comes out of the back of the fabric flowers I construct myself.

I stuck some flowers, spaced out, along the base using a hot glue gun – I wanted the red to be visible rather than cover the base completely.

I then put flowers and foliage on the top, makeing sure I kept the candle recess clear.

What I Used

I include links for things that I could find still available at the time of writing this blog post, though some were seasonal items onky available for a short while.  I make no guarantees that the links will still be working when you read this.

Candle lit up – though it doesn’t show up well – lots of different angles.

I have several bits of different crafting on the go at the moment, so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks.
