2nd Silver Anniversary Card

2nd Welsh Silver Anniversary Card

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before). Thank you for coming over to have a look at my blog

A few weeks ago I showed you a silver anniversary card I’d been asked to make by one of our carers for her parents (you can see it here!).  Her mother also being a carer with the same company – Gofal Cymru.

Well the company boss had also asked me to make a card for her to give as well.  Her request was for a special card, though not as ornate and dimensional as the one the daughter had asked for.  The boss also wanted space to be left for a photo of the two cellebrating their anniversary to be added.

What I Did

I again made this an A4 card (A3 cardstock scored and folded in half), but the toppers are only raised very little and the card fitted into a standard C4 envelope.

As a space was needed for a photo to be added I once again went for the oval Kanban Love and Lace dies, this time also using some of the images that went with them for the main image.

When I showed you the previous card – here – I told you that I had an use for the pink paper that was the result of me spraying the white flowers with a pinkish spray.  Well this was the card I used it on.  I cut two strips from it and stuck them down the card near to both sides.

I chose to use a floral image, which I die cut, and added some die cut mats and layers, as the central image.  Some layers were stuck flat and some with foam tape.

I used the foiling quill in my Scan’N’Cut to foil a greetings “Penblwydd Priodas Arian Hapus” (Welsh for Happy Silver Wedding Anniversary) twice and the number 25 repetedly onto pearlescent paper.

The greeting was cut out using the smallest oval from the set, once portrait for the outside and once landscape for the insert.

I used another die and cardstock from the collection to make a mat for the image as well as a separate mat to go behind the photo.

The row of ’25’ was cut as a paper ribbon and stuck down at either end near the top of the card, leaving it bow a bit in the middle.

I added some silver sticky back “gems” as embelishments, though the person who asked me to make it said that they had a habit of popping off, so I’ll have to be careful to add some extra glue if I ever use some more of them, perhaps a drop of superglue.

The person who’d asked me to make the card took the card away before the photo was stuck on, though she did bring it back with a suitable photo for me to use the same die as the greeting to cut the photo to size before sticking it on.  Unfortunately I didn’t remember to take a photo of it with the photo in place.

I have a few more bits of crafting that I’ve finished over February and March that I haven’t shown you yet, so keep an eye out for those.  Hopefully the antibiotics I’m on will clear the infection in my damaged leg and I’ll feel more like tackling a few projects I’ve got on the go before long, so I’ll then have even more to show you.
