Welsh Sympathy Card

Thank you for coming over to have a look at my blog

A Welsh Sympathy Card

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).

What I Did

I started by cutting some white stamping cardstock in half and putting strips of masking tape across it.

I then used some brushes to brush some ink onto the uncovered areas makeing it darker at the two sides.

I followed this by takeing the Artisan Design “Raindrops” stencil and inking through with grey ink.  The stencil and masking tape was then removed and the piece allowed to dry naturally, which didn’t take long.

I used Canvas to set up the wording “Yn Meddwl Amdanoch Gyda Chydymdeimlad” (Welsh for “Thinking About You With Sympathy“) as well as a feather image, before using my Scan’n’Cut and a foiling quill to foil these using black foil – I should have changed the size of the foiling quill tip I was using to get the wording crisper as I’d used a larger tip for a previous project and forgot to change it, but it is just about readable.

I then trimmed the inked and foiled sheet and took some grey alcohol markers,  I used these to colour the feather and to add a darker shaddow to the raindrops.

I finished off by matting and layering the topper onto black cardstock before scoreig and folding a sheet of super smooth cardstock and attaching my creation to the front.

A printed insert was put inside.

The Finished Card

This is what the finished card looks like

I have more of the cards I made to give packs to friends and family to show you, so keep an eye out for those over the next week or so.  I also have a small number of other projects on the go, but I don’t know how long those will take me to finish and blog about.
