A Birthday Gift For My Mother

Thank you for coming over to have a look at my blog

A Birthday Gift For My Mother

Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).

Just a quick post today.

It was my mother’s birthday at the begining of the month so it was time for me to do a bit of crafting.

The only problem is that the pains in my arm and shoulder have curtailed my crafting greatly this month (not being able to do my usual physio exercises to keep things in check because I wasn’t suppose to lift, pull, push, etc., for several weeks after the hernia opperation meant serious agony when I was finally allowed to start back lifting, etc.)  Also the pains have made it difficult for me to do much typing to catch up with blogging.  So this means that I went for a simple display of three roses for my mother for her birthday.

She likes the Peace Rose, and I beleive had them in her wedding bouquet, so, having got the stuff together to make white ForeverFlowerz roses, I set about colouring them in to try and get an approximation of a Peace Rose.

Firstly yellow coloured ink, then some pink Fleurs Oil Pastels.

I then built up the roses, layer by layer, as per the instructions, put them on stems and added leaves – also ForeverFlowerz items made to work together.

I put the three roses into a vase that came as part of a collection of 4, again from Forever Flowers.  Finishing off with some faux greenery from the same company.

I then popped a stick on ladybird on the side vase and a blue butterfly at the top of the vase.

This is what I gave her.

When my sister called round and saw the vase of flowers on the windowsill she thought there was a real beatle crawling up the side of the vase.  Mam and I had a good laugh about that.

I have several bits of different crafting on the go at the moment, so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks.
