A Birthday Card For My Sister

Thank you for coming over to have a look at my blog

A Birthday Card For My Sister

Yesterday I showed you the gift I made for my sister.  I gave that to her when she did a flying visit here at the end of the summer holidays before she went back to work at the start of the school term.  Because it was dimensional and breakable I didn’t want to have to pack and post it and risk it getting damanged.

But I didn’t give her her birthday card from my mother and myself as I knew that would be easier to post – plus I hadn’t made it when she was here.

My sister doesn’t like ornate and “fussy”, and with my arm and shoulder being in agony at the time I wasn’t up to makeing anything ornate, so I went for a simple card.

I printed out a greeting in green, with a green border, as well as printing the same on an insert sheet (and even printed her name and address and postage label), onto 120gsm white paper.

Scored and folded in half an A3 sheet of 350gsm white cardstock to make an A4 base card.

I used a Sharpie, fine tip, green pen and a ruler to draw a border around the base card.  Cut out the greetings panel and matted it onto a piece of green cardstock before attaching it to the centre of the card.

I then used some floral layers from the same Forever Flowerz Roses kit I’d used to make her gift (that I showed you yesterday), I cut the backs off two daisy centres from another Forever Flowerz kit, and stuck these to the front of the card using Pinflair Glue Gel, adding some leaves that were also from Forever Flowerz.

.

Now that I’ve been prescribed stronger pain killers, I am going to try and catch up a bit on blogging what I’ve already made, so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks. Then I’ll try and get back on track makeing my Christmas cards.
