Christmas Cards
Hi all! Time to show you some more of the Christmas cards I’ve made so far this year.
What I Did
This batch of cards is similar to ones I showed you previously – here – only this time they are created using scalloped edge A5 base cards, not 6″ square cards.
After folding the cards I drew a border around about 1cm in from each edge in a fine Sharpie pen. I printed out the greeting “Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda” onto perleascent paper – some in red and some in green.
These were then trimmed and stuck onto corresponding cardstock and the mat trimmed to around 0.5cm or 1cm before sticking onto the base card.
I’m still working my way through the decoupage Christmas themed images I’d stuck together previously. These were stuck to the front of the base card using wet glue.
I finished off by putting a simple insert with the same greeting printed in black onto 120gsm paper on the inside.
What I Used
- Christmas Die Cut Decoupage
- Pre-scored white A5 scalloped edge base cards with Envelopes
- White Pearlescent Paper
- White 120gsm Paper
- Fingerlift Tape
- Pinflair Glue Gel
- Glue – Pinflair Bookbinding Glue
- Sharpie Fine Markers – Red and Green
- Ruler
- Paper Trimmer – Cutterpiller Pro
- Stamp with Crafftau Maes Mieri Crafts details – made by Dreamees (don’t know if they offer the service to have your own choice of wording on a stamp any more).
- We R Memory Keepers Precision Press Stamping Platform
Finished Cards
As I said in a previous Christmas card post – I’m numbering the Christmas cards I’m blogging this year so that I’ll know exactly how many I’ve made in total by Christmas.

What is really odd about some of these photos is how the bright red writing on the pearlescent paper doesn’t show up well at all in some photos at some angles, even though it is practically as dark as the red mat behind the greeting panel. If you look at the angled view next you can see it shows up much better at a different angle. Strange!

I still have some more decoupaged Christmas Cards, as well as some made using Hunkydory kits, recycling of old cards, etc., to complete and show you. Should keep me busy for a while.
