Thank you for coming over to have a look at my blog
Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).
I explained in my last post about likeing to use lots of different methods to make faux flowers and how I’d decided to make Poinsettias using a Forever Flowers Poinsetia kit for makeing several items for Christmas 2020.
I made a wreath to put on my father’s grave, a simple garland, and two bowls/vases of poinsettias (one to keep here and one to give as a gift to my uncle’s widow).
In this post I’ll show the two bowls of poinsettias.
What I Did
I started off by having several sessions of makeing up the flowers according to the instructions. The kit supplied materials to make a lot of flowers in two sizes of white and red.
When I had a big bag full of flowers I started adding them to Florever Flowerz stems, and adding some foliage as well.
As I was going along I placed the flowers to stand in the foam supplied in the bowls. I used long and short “stems” so that there would be a more domed effect of a display. I also added more foliage between the top of the bowls and the bottom of the flowers to hide the stems.
What I Used
- Forever Flowerz Poinsettia Kit including extra foliage
- Gold and Silver Flower Bowl/Vase from Forever Flowerz
First batch in gold coloured bowl
Second one in silver coloured bowl. Not much difference betwen them other than flower placement and bowl colour.
What I am currently working on are makeing up a new assortment of flowers. I intend to just pop off the pointsettia flowers from their stems in the bowl I kept to display here, and pop on some other flowers, to give a completely different look to the display for this spring. I’m sure I’ll have a post showing the “updated” bowl of flowers in the next few weeks.
