June Calendar Page

Thank You! to all who are visiting my blog, whether for the first time or return visitors

Life

As well as starting out in the garden last month, takeing my growing seedlings out to a covered area to start acclimatising, I started several batches of different mushrooms in boxes in the utility room.

These are white and Chestnut mushrooms growing the 2nd week in May. (It’s a shitake mushroom growing log in the bag on the right of the photo).

And again a few days later.

Crafting

Time to show you what I’ve put on my mother’s June calendar page.  If you missed seeing the previous pages you can see : January – Here! February – Here! March – Here! April – Here! May – Here!

If you’ve seen any of my previous posts about the calendar I’ve been decorating for my mother month by month you will know that I ask her hat she would like next.  This month she was sitting with me in the study while I was sorting through and taking the backs off old birthday cards a friend had given me. She picked out several cards she liked and I selected a few of them to put together to put on the calendar.

What I Did

I took the chosen cards and started laying them out. Cutting out pieces, such as butterflies, from one card, a floral border from another. Moving things around until I was happy with the look.

After getting the thumbs up from Mam I set to sticking the whole lot down with fingerlift tape and glue gel.

The finished piece was left overnight to dry flat before it was stuck up on the calendar with fingerlift tape.

I printed out the month in Welsh and used fingerlift tape again to stick this on.

The Finished Page

This is what the panel looks like.

And again in different lighting.

This is the panel on the calendar.

.

More crafting to show you at some point so please do keep checking back for a look.

Have a great month everybody.
