A Lap Throw I Crocheted
Hi and welcome to my blog (or welcome back if you’ve visited before).
I still had some bits of yarn left over from when I crocheted a blanket for myself some time ago, and then crocheted a blanket for Mam last month, which you can see – Here! I wanted to use up all the little bits, so I decided to make Mam a lap throw ready for when the weather gets colder again
What I Did
I crocheted smaller “granny squares” than I had done previously. As some of the yarn pieces were getting a bit too short for a complete granfy square I did crochet some squares with different colours for different rows. I then used some yarn to crochet join them together. I finished off by crocheting a border all the way around, makeing the border wider top and bottom.
What I Used
Leftover yarn and the same brown yarn I’d bought to finish off Mam’s blanket last month.
This lap throw is much smaller than the blanket I made as it is just to throw over Mam’s legs. She already has a shawl I crocheted her some time ago that gets wrapped around her shoulders if she feels cold.
Here’s Mam with the lap thrown over her legs – pretending to have a snooze.
She couldn’t pretend for long and then started laughing.
I have several bits of different crafting on the go at the moment, so keep an eye out for them over the next few weeks.
