August Calendar Page

Thank You! to all who are visiting my blog, whether for the first time or return visitors

Life

July was a busy month in the garden. Mostly fruit picking.  The loganberries have once again got a good crop.  I’ve been having to pick every day or two to get them before the birds. There have been some raspberries ripening as well.

I freeze them on a flat tray and then put them in large bags in the freezer. That way I can just pull out a handful for a quick, icy, smoothie, or pull out a lot for cooking something.

One of the cactuses that I’ve got after my late grandmother realy liked the repotting I gave it in the spring as it has now flowered and has several other buds on it.

Crafting

Time to show you what I’ve put on my mother’s August calendar page.  If you missed seeing the previous pages you can see : January – Here! February – Here! March – Here! April – Here! May – Here! June – Here ! July – Here!

If you’ve seen any of my previous posts about the calendar I’ve been decorating for my mother month by month you will know that I ask her hat she would like next.  This month she asked for something I hadn’t done done before – which left a large number of posibilities!

What I Did

I recycled an old card for one of the toppers, and used another topper from my crafting stash.  I matted both of them onto a layer of brown Adorable Scorable cardstock.  I also cut strips of that cardstock to put as paper ribbons on the page.  I used a blue Adorable Scorable sheet as the main background and stuck a piece of patterned paper that I’d trimmed slightly smaller over it.  I kept this calendar page flat by only using fingerlift tape to stick things on.  I stuck on the matted and layered toppers at an angle, and put the paper ribbon elements on the page so that they wnet behind the corner of the toppers in some places and over the toppers in other places.

The finished piece was was stuck up on the calendar with fingerlift tape.

I printed out the month in Welsh and used fingerlift tape again to stick this on.

The Finished Page

This is the whole calendar page (sorry for the bad quality of photo).

This is a closer look at the panel

More crafting to show you at some point so please do keep checking back for a look.

Have a great month everybody.
