2021 Calendar – 11 – Tachwedd

November Calendar Page

Thank You! to all who are visiting my blog, whether for the first time or return visitors.

October saw me having to go to more outpatients clinics, but I still managed to do a little bit in the garden. Even if the slugs and snails have decimated my spinach seedlings I have had some veg to eat.

This pumpkin was so large I had to have one of my nephews carry it in for me. He put it on the kitchen table and it was all I could do to turn it around to cut a quarter out for my first batch of cooking from it.

I put the 330ml water bottle by its side to try and give an indication of its size.

I got two savoury pumpkin pies, two sweet pumkin pies, and a saucepan full of soup from a quarter.

Leaving me with three quarters of a pumpkin to process and put in the freezer for later use.

I’ve also had a good few apples in from the garden (my nephew got given a whole lot as well).

Bramley cooking apples were peeled and cored, with Mam’s help, and in addition to apple tarts I put several bags full in the freezer as slices and several bags stewed as apple sauce.

My crafting for October consisted mostly of makeing up Forever Flowerz and makeing them into bunches, displays, etc., and boxing them up as Christmas gifts.  I’ve already posted some blog posts about these, and have more to show you again.  Keep an eye out for them.

Time to show you what I’ve put on my mother’s November calendar page.  If you missed seeing the previous pages you can see : January – Here! February – Here! March – Here! April – Here! May – Here! June – Here ! July – Here! August – Here! September – Here! October – Here!

If you’ve seen any of my previous posts about the calendar I’ve been decorating for my mother month by month you will know that I ask her what she would like next.  As I’d been spending the month makeing Forever Flowerz displays to give as Christmas gifts to family members, with the occasional bit of help from Mam – takeing photos of them all before packing them up – we thought it would be nice to make a panel for her calendar for this month showing some of the ones we’d made.  We made more than I’ve put on this calendar page.

What I Did

The background is just a photo of a lot of the flower heads I put together, taken in the big plastic box I was putting them in while working.  This was printed onto white paper and trimmed to make it smaller than the red sheet of Adorable Scorable I’d chosen to build my panel on. I used fingerlift tape to stick the paper to the cardstock.

The photos of the flower displays were shrunk and printed onto glossy photo paper.  After cutting them out and deciding on a layout Mam and I were happy with, I stuck them all on the panel using 1mm deep, double sided, foam tape.

The finished piece was stuck up on the calendar with fingerlift tape before I printed out the month in Welsh and used fingerlift tape again to stick this on.

The Finished Page

This is the whole calendar page

These are closer looks at the panel I created

More crafting to show you at some point so please do keep checking back for a look.
