December Calendar Page

Thank You! to all who are visiting my blog, whether for the first time or return visitors

Life

After a few months of makeing up Forever Flowerz and putting them together in bunches as Christmas gifts, I realize that I have a few more than I need, so I’ve decided to put some up for sale on eBay – you can see them here.

Here’s a small sample of the flowers I’ve included.

I only post within the UK because of expense of postage. I’m hopeing that somebody will want the large variety for several vase full for themselves, or to split to gift to several people.

I’m nearly finished packing my Christmas gifts for everybody. Which for me is good going for early December.  Going for the rustic look this year – in other words, no Christmas wrapping, just plain cardboard boxes and tape with snowflakes and berries on.

This was the bundle mid November – needles to say they will not fit under our small Christmas tree. The bundles are now even higher, and I need to get some delivered before they topple.

Now I really need to get on with my Christmas card makeing.  Hopefully I’ll have some card posts to show you before long.

I started some more mushroom boxes off growing in the utility room again.  I showed you some of my spring ones earlier in the year. I like to grow some in the spring and in the autumn. This year I was later than usual starting off the four varieties I chose. I was afraid that the drop in temperature would stop them growing, but, although they are very slow, there is some sign of growth in each container.

Only ones I’ve had a crop off yet are the shitake – they were at a much more advanced state arriving from the suppliers.

Even after cutting off a bowl full there were still more left.

I made enough mushroom soup for us to have for lunch two days, as well as a big tub of mushroom pate. And very nice they were as well.  I’m hopeing that one of the other types will produce mushrooms for Christmas – time will tell.

Crafting

Time to show you what I’ve put on my mother’s December calendar page.  If you missed seeing the previous pages you can see : January – Here! February – Here! March – Here! April – Here! May – Here! June – Here ! July – Here! August – Here! September – Here! October – Here! November – Here!

If you’ve seen any of my previous posts about the calendar I’ve been decorating for my mother month by month you will know that I ask her what she would like next.  This month I saw the lovely Nativity images in the Hunkydory collection I bought and knew I had to pick a background cardstock and an image from that colectio for the calendar.

What I Did

I chose a sheet of Adorable Scorable cardstock and trimmed my chosen background cardstock to slightly smaller before attaching it with fingerlift tape.

I then attached the chosen topper with fingerlift tape and used glue gel to attach part of the framing element.

The finished piece was left overnight to dry flat before it was stuck up on the calendar with fingerlift tape.

I printed out the month in Welsh and used fingerlift tape again to stick this on.

The Finished Page

These are photos of the finished page from slightly different angles trying to get to show the colours and some foiling.

.

More crafting to show you at some point so please do keep checking back for a look.

Have a great month everybody.
